Maplewood Police Find Several Explosive Devices

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Maplewood Police say they've found four explosive devices on four separate occasions in the city between last Wednesday and Monday of this week.

Police Chief Paul Schell says the devices look like pipe bombs, and use a wick as an igniter. He says the wicks on all four devices were lit, but all failed to detonate.

The first device was found at Four Seasons Park, and the other three were found near the 1600 block of County Road C.

Chief Schell says there appears to be no specific targets for the bombs, as no people or properties were in the vicinity of the devices.

Maplewood Police ask anyone with information to call 651-777-8191.
