Separated Mankato Couple Involved In Fatal Domestic Incident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Mankato couple at the center of a domestic disturbance on Monday were going through a separation, according to police.

According to Mankato police, around 9:15 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Swan Lane. Upon arrival, crews found 46-year-old Nyawill Nyuon Dup, of Mankato, with head injuries and 51-year-old David Khat Kong, of Mankato, unresponsive outside.

Kong and Dub were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Dub was treated for critical injuries. Kong was pronounced dead from apparent self-inflicted wounds.

According to Mankato Police, Dup and Kong were married but were separated at the time of the incident.

Police believe Kong began the disturbance with a hammer he found inside Dup's home.

This incident is currently under investigation.
