Fire Crews Work To Rescue Person From Manhole

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Fire Department rescued a person who fell down a manhole Monday morning in the North Loop.

According to the department, an adult male fell about 15 feet down a manhole on the 200 block of 1st Street North, not far from Spoon and Stable.

The manhole was not on the street, but rather a pit inside the storage area of a building. The man who fell owned and worked in the building, according to the fire department.

The pit is usually covered, but the cover was removed for unknown reasons.

Authorities said the man was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Fire crews set up an apparatus to pull the man up and out of the hole.

It's not yet clear how the man fell in.
