Wife Of Missing St. Anthony Man Asks For Public's Help

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Leeann Hoffstrom is trying to be strong as she searches for her husband, Todd.

The 58-year-old left the house on the morning of Sept. 29, and has not been seen since.

"He told his therapist ... that he wasn't going to make any more appointments with her because ... he didn't want to waste her time," Leeann said.

She says her husband had become increasingly depressed after their son, Ted, was shot and killed last year in Orono.

Ted Hoffstrom shot and killed the doctor who delivered him. Police then shot Ted as he left the doctor's home with a gun.

Leeann says it's been a difficult year, and coming up on the one-year anniversary has been tough.

She says he told her and members of a support group that he just wanted to drive his car into the river.

"We were at the grave site recently, and he started to cry and said he couldn't take it anymore and thought of Ted every minute of every day," she said.

The case was recently closed in Hennepin County.

Police say they are looking for the Hoffstrom's car, a black GMC Envoy with license plate 950-JCA.
