Man Tasered In Stearns County Courtroom
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man was Tasered at the Stearns County Courthouse Friday morning after refusing to be escorted from the courtroom, police said.
Gawech Yiek Thach, 32, of St. Cloud, had just been taken from the St. Cloud Hospital to the courthouse for a civil commitment hearing.
Authorities said that during the hearing Thach was ordered to go back to the hospital, and when officers moved to escort him from the courtroom, he resisted and became combative.
At that point, an officer used a Taser on Thach.
He was treated by paramedics and taken back to St. Cloud Hospital for future commitment hearings.
