Man Suffers Hypothermia After St. Louis Co. Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man went missing briefly in St. Louis County Friday evening after crashing his car, according to police.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jonathan Pruse, of Silver Bay, was traveling on Townline Road in east-central St. Louis County Friday evening when he crashed his car.

Police believed Pruse may have gotten lost in the woods near the crash.

St. Louis County Sheriff's Volunteer Rescue Squad, U.S. Forest Service law enforcement and St. Louis County deputies began a search, as cold weather and increasing darkness caused concern for Pruse's well-being.

Pruse was located shortly after midnight.

Forest Service officers transported him to Essentia Health Northern Pines where he was treated for hypothermia.
