1 Confirmed Shot In Woodbury Officer-Involved Shooting

WOODBURY, Minn. (WCCO) -- Woodbury police say two officers were involved in a shooting late Sunday morning.

Police commander John Altman confirmed the shooting early Sunday afternoon. He said the Washington County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a call around 11:30 a.m. from a man experiencing "homicidal feelings," who further stated that he "wanted to die." Altman said the man then told dispatch to "come kill me."

When officers arrived to the home on the 7000 block of Highpoint Road around 10 minutes later, they say the man "took a shooting stance" toward the officers, prompting them to use "less lethal munitions" as well as "lethal rounds." It is not clear if the suspect had a weapon.

The suspect was taken to Regions Hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

None of the officers were injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect's name has not been released.
