Man Shot After Fleeing Eden Prairie Police ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have identified the man who was shot early Saturday morning after fleeing from Eden Prairie police on a motorcycle.

Matthew Raymond Hovland-Knase, 21, was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County Jail, the county sheriff's office said.

Officials say he fled police around 3 a.m., leading officers on a brief pursuit that ended at Eden Prairie and South Lund roads.

The sheriff's office said it's investigating as to whether an officer accidentally shot Hovland-Knase, who was treated after the incident at a hospital.
