Man Shot And Killed By Family Member, 29th Homicide In Minneapolis This Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man was fatally shot in north Minneapolis on Thursday night, and police say it was a family member who pulled the trigger.

The shooting happened just before midnight on the 2000 block of James Avenue North, in the city's Jordan neighborhood.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Dan Vang of Minneapolis. His cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say that they've taken a 40-year-old relative into custody.

This shooting marks the 29th homicide in Minneapolis this year, and the seventh in just nine days.
