Man Says He Smoked PCP, Played 'GTA' Before Shooting At Ex-GF

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis man is charged with attempted murder, assault and burglary after allegedly shooting at his ex-girlfriend and then pointing his weapon at police on Wednesday morning.

Thirty-seven-year-old Major James Moore was charged Friday with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.

Moore allegedly shot through his ex-girlfriend's bedroom window, according to the criminal complaint. She fled the northeast Minneapolis residence and called police when she heard Moore trying to climb through the broken window.

When officers arrived, they found Moore in the alley, where he allegedly pointed his gun at them. He eventually surrendered after a brief standoff.

The Hennepin County Attorney's office says Moore told officers, "I messed up," and said the last thing he remembered before the incident was smoking PCP and playing "Grand Theft Auto."

Moore's bail is set at $500,000. He could face 47 years to life in prison if convicted.
