Man Pleads Guilty To Having Sex With Teens He Messaged Online
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Northfield man was sentenced to nearly a year in jail Monday after pleading guilty to befriending teenage girls online and having sex with them.
Michael Lyle Stucky Jr., 19, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, the Dakota County Attorney's Office said.
One count stemmed from an incident involving a 15-year-old whom Stucky chatted with on Facebook. He then went to her home and had sex with her. The other incident involved a 13-year-old girl.
Judge Jerome Abrams sentenced Stucky to 361 days in jail, a fine of $50 and probation for 15 years. He must also register as a sex offender and go through sex offender treatment, the attorney's office said.
If Stucky does not comply, he could serve two years in prison.
James Backstrom, the county attorney, said predatory behavior targeting children is a bigger problem than most parents realize.
He encouraged parents to talk with their kids about who they chat with online.
