Man Pleads Guilty To Beating Best Friend To Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Virginia, Minnesota, man pleaded guilty Tuesday to beating his best friend to death.

Michael Daufelt, 39, will be sentenced in second-degree murder conviction on Aug. 31.

David Super's body was found in a Virginia apartment on May 6 and the autopsy showed he died of blunt force trauma.

A witness said she asked Super if she could go and get him help, but Super refused because he said Daufelt was his best friend.

"On behalf of the investigative team and the county attorney's office, we offer our sincere condolences to David Super's family and friends who are enduring his tragic and unnecessary loss of life," Assistant St. Louis County Attorney Michelle Anderson said in a statement.
