Man Pleads Guilty For Escape From Fargo Halfway House

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A man who walked away from a Fargo halfway house less than three weeks before his release date has pleaded guilty.

Wayne Fisher is charged in federal court with escape. Authorities say he left the Centre Inc. facility on Aug. 1 and was apprehended a few days later in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota.

A federal court judge in Minnesota sentenced Fisher in June 2007 to 10 years in prison on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm. He was scheduled to be released on Aug. 17.

A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.
