Man Killed, Son Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 26-year-old man was killed and his 4-year-old son injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening.

The crash happened on the 32000 block of Lofton Avenue in Chisago Lake Township just before 9 p.m.

The Chicago County Sheriff's Office said that the vehicle had apparently left the roadway before striking a tree.

The driver was Harry John Warner of North Branch. He was declared dead at the scene. Warner's son sustained only minor facial injuries, the sheriff's department said, and was taken to Regions Hospital as a precautionary measure.

It was not immediately clear why the vehicle left the road, authorities said. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
