Man Killed In New Year's Day Shooting ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have identified the man who died following a shooting in Minneapolis on New Year's Day.

James Edward Bills, 20, of West St. Paul, died from a gunshot wound to the head, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said.

He was shot around 12:30 a.m. Friday on the 500 block of 8th Avenue SE, police said.

Officers found him with severe injuries and he was brought to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died later in the day.

The shooting remains under investigation. Police say a reward might be offered for information leading to an arrest.
