Man Dies After South Minneapolis Shooting Early Friday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police say that a man has died after a Friday morning shooting near the 3400 block of Elliot Avenue in South Minneapolis.

The shooting happened at about 6:45 a.m.

Police say the man was taken to an area hospital following the shooting, and at the time reported his injuries to be non-life threatening. However, as of 2:20 p.m., Minneapolis officials say the man did die of his injuries.

The victim has not yet been identified by name, but police said he was believed to be in his 30s.

No one has been arrested; investigators say the shooter or shooters fled the scene before officers arrived.
