Sheriff: Man Impersonating Officer Pulls Over Teen Near Spicer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating after a man pulled over a juvenile female near Spicer on Tuesday and impersonated a police officer, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were contacted by the girl's mother, saying the girl had been pulled over on Highway 23 just north of Spicer. The man who made the traffic stop told her he did so because of her parking pass for New London-Spicer High School. He said all vehicles with those passes were being pulled over because of Homecoming activities and related pranks.

The man then asked to search her vehicle.

Authorities say the person posing as a law enforcement officer is described as a white male with no facial hair, about 6 feet tall and having an average build. He was wearing dark-colored cargo pants, a light-colored button down short-sleeved shirt with an emblem sewn on and a law enforcement type duty belt. The man was dressed similar to what a deputy sheriff wears, and the vehicle he was driving was a sedan with red and blue lights in the grill.
