Man Gets 50 Years In Prison For Killing Parents

WASHBURN, Wis. (AP) — An Iron River man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for killing his parents last winter.

Forty-five-year-old Jim Crain Jr. was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree intentional homicide.

Judge John P. Anderson sentenced Crain to 25 years in prison on each count, to be served consecutively. Crain would then be on extended supervision for 20 years.

The Daily Press reports Anderson said the court intends that Crain die in prison.

Crain was accused of killing his parents — 79-year-old James Crain and 76-year-old Eunice Crain — in the couple's Iron River apartment on Dec. 7, 2013.

Jenifer Morris, the defendant's sister, says her family has "lost its innocence."

WDIO-TV reports Crain apologized to his family in court.
