Man Found Dead In Hennepin County Farming Accident
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A man died Tuesday evening in a farming accident in Independence, Minnesota.
Mark McCulley, 62, was found dead in an oat field south of his farm on County Road 92. The farmer was trapped in the auger head of combine.
"His death is a tragedy not only to his family and friends, but to our farming community in Independence and beyond," West Hennepin Public Safety Director Gary Kroells said in a statement. "This is a cruel reminder for all of us as we enter into harvest season this fall. ... Life is fragile and power equipment is dangerous."
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the incident, but foul play is not suspected.
