Man Dies Of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound At MSU-Mankato Library

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 27-year-old man died Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the library on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato.

School officials sent out a campus alert about the incident at the Memorial Library on Monday. Officials said the incident happened at about 4:10 p.m. on the second floor of the library. Officials said there is no threat to the safety of the general public and there were no other injuries.

Authorities said the man was identified as Timothy Lee Anderson of Mankato. School officials said he was a junior at the school majoring in philosophy.

The library reopened on a limited basis Monday night. Officials said the lower level, first and third floors of the building are accessible and portions of the second floor remain secure.
