Columbia Heights Man Dead After Crash Involving Semi

ELK RIVER, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Columbia Heights man is dead after a crash Wednesday involving a semi.

The State Patrol says 40-year-old Jose Claudio Jimbo Llapa was driving west on Highway 10 just after 6 a.m. when he rear-ended a semi driven by Douglas Wayne Price of Zimmerman. Llapa was killed in the crash, while Price did not suffer any injuries.

Authorities say Llapa was not wearing a seat belt, and they believe alcohol was a factor.
