Man Accused Of ID Theft Said To Have More Than 100 Victims

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Ramsey County say they've charged a man with stealing the identities of more than 100 people, and are asking for who anyone who believes they might be a victim to contact them.

The county attorney's office says it charged Chu Neng Thao with identity theft for stealing from individuals in from Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington Counties.

Many of the victims had accounts with KleinBank, which Thao allegedly compromised.

Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim is encouraged to call the attorney's office at 651-266-3144.

Thao is slated to be in court next on March 8.
