Man, 91, Dies Following Crash Near Marshall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The State Patrol says a 91-year-old man died Saturday after a two-car crash in southwestern Minnesota.

Officials said the crash happened near Marshall shortly after 11 a.m. on Highway 23 at the intersection with Saratoga Street.

A patrol report says a Buick Century was going south on the highway when it collided with a Dodge pickup going west on Saratoga. The pickup was pulling a horse trailer.

The Buick's driver, Cecil Knieff of Marshall, died in the crash.

The pickup's driver, 36-year-old Emit Valness of Eden, South Dakota, suffered serious injuries, the patrol said.

The two other passengers in the pickup were not injured.
