Man, 42, Arrested After Fatal Longville Vehicle Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 42-year-old Swatara man is in jail and another person is dead after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, according to the Cass County Sheriff.

Sheriff Tom Burch says at around 9:18 p.m. the sheriff's office received a report of the crash on County Road 7 in Longville.

When deputies and other responders arrived, they located two vehicles that collided head-on. The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the Longville airport.

The driver of the other vehicle, David Maki, was arrested near the scene and taken to the Cass County Detention Center where formal charges are pending, Burch said.

The incident is being investigated by the sheriff's office and Minnesota State Patrol. The victim's identity is being withheld until his family members are notified.
