Man, 38, Stabbed Multiple Times At NW Minnesota Campground

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 38-year-old man had to be taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after an assault at a northwestern Minnesota campground and one person is in custody in connection with the incident, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

The Elbow Lake Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Office were called at about 12:46 a.m. to a remote campsite at Tipsinah Mounds Campground, which is in Elbow Lake, on a report of an assault. When officers arrived, they learned a 38-year-old man had been stabbed and was bleeding. The man had been severely injured with multiple stab wounds.

The victim was taken to Prairie Ridge Hospital in Elbow Lake and eventually transferred to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. His condition is not known.

Authorities said a 31-year-old female was arrested at the scene on suspicion of first-degree assault. What led up to the incident remains under investigation.
