Man, 23, Pleads Not Guilty To Northern Iowa Kidnapping

OSAGE, Iowa (AP) — A June trial has been scheduled for a Mitchell man accused of kidnapping and injuring a woman last month.

Court records say 23-year-old Nicholas Lenz has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, willful injury, theft and other crimes. His trial is set to begin June 22 in Mitchell County District Court in Osage.

Authorities say Lenz confined the woman March 5 and 6 at a Mitchell residence, using zip ties and packaging tape, and punched her several times. She was later hospitalized.

Authorities say some of the charges against Lenz stem from burglaries and thefts in rural St. Ansgar, St. Ansgar and Stacyville.
