Man, 21, Pleads Guilty To Murder In Choking Death Of Teen

MINNEAPOLIs (WCCO) – A Menahga man plead guilty to murder in the strangulation death of a 19-year-old woman Wednesday, the Hubbard County Attorney's Office said.

Harley David Leritz, 21, was charged with first-and second-degree murder charges in the death of Kiela Knowles.

According to the criminal complaint, Leritz is accused of choking Knowles to death in her Park Rapids apartment on Feb. 24.

According to the attorney's office, Leritz plead guilty to second-degree intentional murder on Wednesday.

Leritz will receive a guideline sentence of 334 months, or 27 years and 10 months, in prison.

The Hubbard County Attorney's Office said sentencing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
