Sheriff: Man Dies In Head-On Crash With Semi-Truck

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say an adult male died Thursday morning in a head-on crash with a semi-truck near Scandia.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, along with the Forest Lake Police Department, Scandia Fire Department and Marine Fire Department, responded just before 8 a.m. to reports of a head-on crash between a vehicle and semi-truck at the intersection of Manning Trail North and 180th Street North. The intersection is on the border of Scandia and May Township.

When authorities arrived, one adult male had been injured and was taken to a hospital.  Authorities say the man later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities have identified the victim as Brandon Pranghofer of Forest Lake.

What led up to the crash is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
