Lynx Open Western Conference Finals At Phoenix Friday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After sweeping San Antonio 2-0 to advance to the Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Lynx will head to Phoenix Friday to take on the Mercury.

Game 1 will start at 9 p.m. Friday and be televised on NBA TV. It's a best-of-three series, meaning the first team to win two games advances to the WNBA Finals. This series is arguably the two best teams in the league facing off.

Phoenix won the regular season series 3-1, but the Lynx have won four straight playoff games against the Mercury. Minnesota has won nine straight playoff games dating back to last season's WNBA title, and it has also won 14 of its past 17 playoff games against Phoenix.

Game two of the series will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Target Center. Game three, if necessary, will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Phoenix. The Lynx is looking to get back to the WNBA Finals for the fourth straight season.
