Lynx F Maya Moore Named Western Conference Player Of The Month

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore was named the Western Conference Player of the Month for September by the WNBA on Tuesday.

Moore helped lead the Lynx to a 28-6 regular season record and the No. 1 seed for the WNBA Playoffs. It's the second time she's earned the award this season and the eighth of her career.

Moore averaged 21.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists over seven games in September. She also shot 46.5 percent from the field, better than 82 percent from the free-throw line and 57 percent from three-point range. Moore scored at least 20 points in five of the seven September games.

The Lynx will host Game 1 of the WNBA Western Conference Semifinals at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Xcel Energy Center. The opponent is to be determined.
