Lyft Driver Hospitalized After Overnight Shooting In South Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Lyft driver is recovering after being shot early Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Police Department says the shooting happened shortly before 4 a.m. on the 900 block of 22nd Street East, in the Ventura Village neighborhood.

The victim, a Lyft driver, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police say. Emergency crews brought the victim to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment.

A spokesperson from Lyft says the company was unable to locate any driver on its platform near the area at the time of the shooting.
