Lutsen Mountain Opens 10 Runs In Final Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Didn't get out on the slopes enough this winter?

Well, now you'll have one more chance!

Lutsen Mountain is opening eight to 10 runs for one final weekend of the 2015 – 16 season.

From Saturday, April 30 through Sunday, May 1 the runs will be open on Eagle Mountain. One chairlift will operate and a one-to-three-foot base will remain open.

Lutsen's marketing director Jim Vick said as the weather began to warm they focused their time on the north facing side of Eagle Mountain so they could better manage what little snow was made or left and open for sporadic weekends.

"By strategically stockpiling snow, we can replenish when the spring sun takes its toll and keep a consistent base into May. Our hard-core fans love these extended weekends," Vick said.

Lutsen will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
