Lowry Tunnel Cleaning Postponed

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Drivers passing through Minneapolis will have an easier go of it Tuesday evening.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the scheduled cleaning of the Lowry Tunnel on Interstate 94 has been postponed.

The cleaning was supposed to start at 10 p.m. on Oct. 4, effectively closing the tunnel overnight.

Due to rain, the cleaning has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 10. It will begin at 10 p.m. and will end at 5 a.m. Oct. 11.

The cleaning will cause a road closure at westbound Hennepin and Lyndale Avenues  and eastbound I-394.
