Loon Rescued From Frozen Lake Recovering

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An injured loon rescued from a frozen lake in Northern Minnesota earlier this month is making a nice recovery.

The Larson family pulled the juvenile loon from Bottle Lake after noticing it stuck out on the ice. The loon had been unable to move or eat.

The loon was then brought to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Roseville.

Wildlife experts were afraid an old fracture that had healed wrong would prevent the loon from fully extending its wing, keeping it from being able to fly.

But they say through aggressive physical therapy the loon is getting better.
