Lockout Over, Minn. Orchestra Announces '14 Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former Minnesota Orchestra music director Osmo Vänskä will return to the newly-renovated Orchestra Hall to conduct three weeks of classical music concerts as part of the orchestra's classical music season.

On Friday, the orchestra announced its concert schedule, which goes from February to July. The announcement comes 10 days after orchestra musicians and the board of directors ended a 15-month lockout by ratifying a new contract agreement.

Vänskä is slated to conduct weeks in late March, mid April and early May.

The Finnish conductor left the orchestra last October, after the lockout forced the orchestra to miss dates at New York's prestigious Carnegie Hall.

Whether or not Vänskä has future plans with the orchestra remains uncertain.
