Local Restaurateur Sets Record By Selling Condo For $1.2K Per Square Foot
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A local restaurateur set a new record for condo sales in Minneapolis after he sold his downtown space for $1,200 per square foot, according to the Star Tribune.
The Star Tribune reported that Keyvan Talebi, co-owner of the Crave restaurant chain, sold Unit No. 3702 in the Carlyle for $4.3 million.
The condo reportedly sold without ever officially hitting the market.
While this is not the highest sale price for a Twin Cities property, on a square-foot basis it was almost 10 times the average for the metro.
The Tribune reported that Talebi originally purchased the condo in 2008 for $2.457 million.
In 2011, WCCO's Mike Binkley got a behind the scenes look at Talebi's place.
Binkley reported that the walls of the apartment were lined in mother of pearl and many fixtures featured glass from Murano, Italy. But perhaps the most breathtaking feature of the condo is the three separate terraces that offer three separate, but equally beautiful, views of Minneapolis, the Mississippi River and St. Paul.
The buyer is from out-of-town and has not released their name.
