The Minneapolis-based indie rockers, Carroll (named after St. Paul's Carroll Avenue), recently caught a major break when their demos ended up in the hands of renowned producer, Jon Low. They then flew to Philly where they completed their self-titled debut album in just 18 days!

Now, they're releasing their album unto the world at the Triple Rock Friday. Special guests include Night Moves and Strange Relations.

Tickets are $8 to $10. Doors open at 9 p.m. 18-plus.

FRIDAY: The Glenrustles Reunion Show @ Turf Club

Other performers include Baby Grant Johnson and Jim Crego and The North Electric.

Doors at 8 p.m. and music at 9 p.m.

SATURDAY: The Fontanelles CD Release @ ICEHOUSE

The Driftwood Char Bar is shutting Nicollet Avenue down (well, part of it, 4415 Nicollet) and throwing a stage right in the darn street in front of the bar!

There, you can enjoy five bands, food, beer and wine. You can watch the bands for free, but the other stuff you gotta pay for, of course.

The performances, which start at noon, include One Hit Wonder Band, James Loney and Lolo's Ghost, Mayfield, Audra & The New Black and the Rudegirls/Clash Tribute Band. At 5 p.m., music moves inside with Frogleg/Joe Dunn & Demitri Rallis. Then Bog Doctors and Shotgun Ragtime Band top off the night!
