Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Week(end)

From Har Mar Superstar doing his thing in St. Paul to a great outside get-together in northeast Minneapolis, here are the four shows and events to experience in the Twin Cities this weekend!

Friday: Har Mar Superstar @ Amsterdam, St. Paul

Har Mar Superstar, aka Sean Tillman, is still riding the waves of his successful "Bye Bye 17" album -- touring across the globe -- and is making a stop in St. Paul to bring it all home again. If you haven't seen him perform, you're in for an entertainingly outrageous/groovy time. Trust me.

Doors open at 6 p.m. – and for all ages! Other artists include Suzie, Whatever Forever and The Ronnie Buxtons.

Friday: Indeed Beer Garden Happy Hour Patio Party @ Dakota Jazz Club, Mpls.

Before heading to Har Mar in St. Paul, maybe hit up a lovely Indeed Beer Garden happy hour (on a #top10wxday!) at the patio of Dakota Jazz Club! Minneapolis' very own jazz saxophonist and composer Irv Williams will be performing.

It all starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.

Saturday: Homeless & Big Cars Album Release & Icehouse, Mpls.

Icehouse has hosted some of the hottest hip hop and rap concerts, and this Saturday is no exception.

That's when Homeless & Big Cats release their collaborative seven-song EP, "The Polar Bear Rug," featuring P.O.S., Toki Wright, MaLLy, Eric Mayson and Lydia Liza.

It all goes down when doors open at 10:30 p.m. Special guests include Mally, Chantz Erolin, Tony The Scribe and Last Word. Click here for ticket info.

Sunday: 9th Annual Red Stag Block Party: In Cahoots! @ Red Stag, Mpls.

To top off the weekend, The Red Stag and The Growler are presenting "In Cahoots!" Sunday. Ten Minnesota breweries are forming five teams to create five new collaboration beers, which will debut at the block party – and you vote on the best brew!

Naturally, there will also be great music there, which includes The World's Most Dangerous Polka Band, Lydia Liza, Black Market Brass, performers Epitome No Question, Field Trip, Al Church and Mixed Blood Majority.

Of course, there are a massive amount of other things to do this weekend, so give your suggestions below!
