Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Week(end)

From a chill singer-songwriter show in northeast Minneapolis to a country-themed brunch show in St. Paul, here are the four shows to see this weekend.

-----------

Friday: Rachel Sara Roberts, Sarah Morris & More @ Amsterdam Bar – St. Paul

The "Country Bumpkins of Minne and Whiskey" are headed to the Amsterdam Bar and Hall for a FREE show Friday night.

The night includes country/singer-songwriter songs and stories from Sarah Morris, Laura Nicholson and Rachel Sara Roberts.

It all starts at 9 p.m.

-----------

Saturday: Faith Boblett, Rivers & Hannah Connolly @ Honey - Mpls.

Northeast Minneapolis' Honey has billed a great lineup for their early evening show Saturday!

The featured acts include local singer-songwriter Faith Boblett (with a stripped down band), Wisconsin-based Rivers and indie-folk songstress Hannah Connolly.

It all starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be over by 9:45 p.m., so it's easy for the early folks … like me!

All ages are welcome! Entry is $5.

-----------

Saturday: Daylily, Brilliant Beast & Driftwood Pyre @ 331 Club – Mpls.

The night owls could totally leave the Honey and make it in time for the 311 Club show, no problem!

It's another awesome lineup, but with more of a rock/distorted twist. The show features local acts Brilliant Beast, Daylily and Driftwood Pyre. All great bands.

The show, which is 21-plus, starts at 10 p.m.

-----------

Sunday: "Outlaw Brunch" featuring Bourbon County @ Turf Club – St. Paul

I love including brunch-related shows in these lists … well … because I love brunch. And why not have brunch whilst listening to local, live music?

Here's an option: A "good 'ole country" brunch that features the music of Minneapolis-based Bourbon County.

So, grab a Bloody Mary, some huevos rancheros and fill your ears with some great music. And then take a good nap afterwards.

Brunch/show is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
