Local Fundraiser Benefiting Children With Disabilities Celebrates 20 Years

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Twin Cities organization is celebrating 20 years of helping children with disabilities.

The Paul Adelman Children and Disabilities Endowment Fund seeks to support programs, projects and services for children with disabilities.

The foundation was started by Floyd and Andi Adelman after they lost their son Paul to brain cancer in 1995, shortly after his 12th birthday. With the help of their friend Norm Stoehr, they began hosting a golf tournament to raise money for their fund.

Each year since 1996, the foundation hosts the Paul Adelman Golf Classic. This year the golf tournament and party fundraiser takes place on July 27 at Oak Ridge Country Club in Hopkins.

The golf tournament starts at noon with the party fundraiser starting at 5:30 p.m.

Floyd Adelman joined WCCO This morning to discuss the history of the tournament and the 20th anniversary celebration.
