Lino Lakes Helicopter Crash Victims ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities have identified the two people killed in a helicopter crash in Anoka County last week.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as 48-year-old Matthew Hayes and 47-year-old Deborah Smith.

Both victims died of blunt force injuries resulting from the crash, according to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.

Smith and Hayes had just departed from the Anoka County Airport when they crashed three miles southwest in a sod field in Lino Lakes.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office, Blaine Police Department and National Transportation Safety Board are still investigating the crash.
