Suspicious Package Briefly Shuts Down Light Rail In Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Green and blue line light rail trains were briefly shut down in both directions in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday evening, as Metro Transit Police investigated a suspicious package.

Train service between the Nicollet Mall and Hennepin Avenue stations was moved to buses as police investigated. Eventually police cleared the situation, and train service returned to normal by 5:45 p.m.
