Lawnmower Accident Partially Severs 4-Year-Old's Leg

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A child's leg was partially severed after a lawnmower ran over it in central Minnesota Thursday.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said a riding lawnmower ran over a 4-year-old's foot in Vergas, Minnesota, just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The child's lower leg was partially severed and he or she was airlifted to a Fargo hospital.

The sheriff's office said statements and evidence show the child was outside and ran up to a family member who was mowing the lawn.
