An incarcerated man who fled from a community work crew in Plymouth, Minnesota, on Friday morning has been taken back into custody, according to the state's Department of Corrections.

The 41-year-old man was classified as minimum custody, according to the state agency, making him eligible to participate in the work crew program.

The state agency said the man removed his GPS monitoring device and left the job site around 9 a.m.

Investigators said the man may have received help from an individual who gave him a ride from the area of the work site.

Officials said on Friday night that he was taken back into custody amid a joint operation between the St. Paul Police Department and the DOC's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, though they have yet to disclose where he was found.
