Lakeville Mayor Crashes New Year's Eve Parties For Great Cause

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Lakeville's mayor is encouraging others to give back with a promise this New Year's Eve.

Matt Little will stop by your party and give a toast for a small donation to any local food shelf or homeless shelter.

WCCO caught up with Little at the home of local country artist Dave McElroy Thursday night.

McElroy made a donation to the non-profit Sharing and Caring Hands, which provides aid to individuals, families and children in need.

"I know we can do more, and I know we can give more to those in need," Little said. "So I wanted to be here tonight to say let's make 2016 the year in which we do our best for those who have it the worst."

Mayor Little also made toasts at several other New Year's Eve parties Thursday night.

The mayor, who is running for State Senate, says some of the other charities people donated to were the Wounded Warrior Project and 360 Communities.
