3 Injured In 2-Car Crash In Lac Qui Parle County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Three people were injured after a two-car crash just north of Madison Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lac qui Parle Sheriff's Office, around 4:45 p.m. police responded to a call of a two-car crash at the intersection of County Road 19 and 330th Street.

Police said 19-year-old Julie Arends, of rural Madison, was driving eastbound on 330th Street when she made contact with a car driven by 34-year-old Kimberly Torke, of Madison. Torke was riding with her 12-year-old niece.

Both cars left the road and went into the ditch.

All three were taken to the Madison hospital with injuries. Torke was in critical condition and was airlifted to another hospital. She is reportedly in critical, but stable, condition.

Arends and Torke's niece were treated for minor injuries and have been release.

The accident is currently under investigation.
