Koochiching County Commissioner Wins House Primary

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A county commissioner has won a special election primary for a House seat to represent Minnesota's largest district.

Koochiching County Commissioner Rob Ecklund outpolled three other Democratic-Farmer-Labor candidates in Tuesday's election for District 3A, which covers Koochiching, Cook, Lake and northern St. Louis counties.

The seat became open with the death of veteran Rep. David Dill. He died of cancer in August. Ecklund will face Republican Roger Skraba and independent Kelsey Johnson in a Dec. 8 election. Ecklund advances with nearly 44 percent of the vote.
