Klobuchar Picks Up The Pen To Write Memoir

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is writing a memoir.

Publishing company Henry Holt and Company announced Thursday the Minnesota Democrat has penned "The Senator Next Door: A Memoir from the Heartland." It's set to be published Aug. 25.

A statement says the memoir will cover Klobuchar's childhood and path from the Hennepin County Attorney's office to the U.S. Senate, where she was first elected in 2006.

Klobuchar's name has been floated inside political circles as a possible candidate for higher office. A memoir puts her among a large crowd of politicians who publish a book as they look to take a step up.

The senator has routinely quashed any talk of angling for another office, saying she's content in the Senate.
