Kevin Martin Returns To Wolves After 34-Game Absence

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kevin Martin has returned to the lineup for the Minnesota Timberwolves after missing the previous 34 games with a fractured right wrist.

Martin was activated on Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics. The Timberwolves initially ruled him out on Tuesday, but Martin felt good enough after a workout on Wednesday morning to play.

Martin averaged 20.4 points and shot 48 percent on 3-pointers in nine games this season before he was injured. That included a 37-point game against the Knicks on Nov. 19. He broke his wrist in the first quarter of that game, but was able to finish before needing surgery that kept him out for two months.

Wolves coach Flip Saunders says Martin will come off the bench until his conditioning is up to speed.
