MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Thousands of country music fans helped set a new attendance record at Target Field.

Almost 85,000 people went to see Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean on Saturday and Sunday.

A spokesman for the Twins' baseball stadium said the concert officially sold out at 44,152 people. That's compared to the previous record of 43,940 two years ago, which was also set by Chesney, along with the Zac Brown Band.

That's about 212 more fans than the 2013 concert.

Sunday night's concert had about 40,000.

Chesney and Aldean brought in more fans than British rock star Paul McCartney.
